This morning, I cry.

I don’t know where to start, I cry:

  1. I cry for America.  More the home of fear and selfishness than the home of the free and brave.
  2. I cry for women.  I cry for women who will live in fear of their own health and control of their own lives.
  3. I cry for men: I also cry for the majority of men who do not trust women with their own bodies or their country.
  4. I cry for Justice. A man who has been convicted of crimes against women and fraud and indicted on threats to our country was elected as a better choice.
  5. I cry for gay people. Who have valiantly fought for rights and freedom, and I am sad that they are in jeopardy.
  6. I cry for the world.  For a good part of my life the USA ushered in a time of what I believed was moral leadership, maybe that was an illusion after all.
  7. I cry for Jews. 79% of Jews in this country voted for Harris. Now, we are probably on the revenge list.
  8. I cry for noble civil servants who will be subject to the whims of Elon Musk, who may act as he did at Twitter and eliminate jobs at will.
  9. I cry in fear of AI.  Leaders in Silicon Valley have what they hoped for. Unchecked freedom to leverage their wealth, power, and AI as they choose without any societal oversight.
  10. I cry for my own ignorance.  For 60 years, I believed in this country.   That its constitution was unique. Now, I fear I was just ignorant of reality.
  11. I cry for hate.  I cry that hate and fear will define humans in the near future.  This has never been good.
  12. I cry for my own uncertainty. I now live in a country that does not show love for me.   I also cry as we see protectionist and similar fears and hatred being spread around the world.
  13. I cry for the good.  I cry because, for now, it appears to me that money and power are more valued than being good, loving, and educated.
  14. I cry for the environment. We see powerful hurricanes. Rising tides, and more.  Now, we will be led by someone who denies global warming exists.
  15. I cry for people who don't look "American".   I cry because I always believed what made this country great was we all look "American".   What happened to the strength of America in the "melting pot" of cultures and the value of diversity?

For now, I just cry!!
