I am mad as hell, and want Congress to do their job and pass H.R.4269 - Assault Weapons Ban of 2015




I sit here at 1pm on a Sunday, and I must say to just feeling pissed off.


In this world, at this moment there are families of at least 50 dead and more than 50 injured who have to wonder how their loved ones could have been shot and or killed by one man early on Saturday morning in Orlando home to Disney, home to Universal Studios and home to my niece and her husband. (they are safe thankfully)

Yes, it was a gay night club and does that really matter unless you are the lt governor of Texas?  As a gay man I should be madder that it was a gay club, but honestly I don't think I could be more outraged.

What makes me so mad is that this ONE man could get his hands on AR15 assault rifle that allowed him to kill, and injure so many people in such a short period of time.  Can any one justify that to me?

Thankfully, I discovered there is already a bill in Congress to ban assault weapons, again!

So, they don't have to imagine what they can do, they can just go ahead and pass this damn law and do something to cut down access to these truly assault weapons.

Hot Summer Day Random Top 10

  I would like to do an odd top ten. Another First Father's Day

  Another First Father’s Day. 58 years ago, around this date, I celebrated my first Father’s Day. I don’t remember that one as I was about seven months old. This one is my first Father’s Day since my Dad passed, and there is much to share about my Dad. June is sort of my Dad’s month. It starts with his and my Mom’s anniversary, which would have been their 64th anniversary. There is, of course, Father’s Day, and then his birthday was June 24th. So, June this year has many dates to remember my Dad. That said, I am diverted to memories from yesterday evening. I was going to Savannah to see my Mom, my sister, and my family and to “check” in. I was lucky to find a reasonably priced flight from Longview, Texas. The only airline to choose is American. To say that American Airlines didn’t show their best service yesterday is an understatement, especially in the last leg of my journey out of Charlotte, but that is not the point of this Father’s Day.
